Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ " (٢) .،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Sa’eed bin al-Musayyab that `Umar (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `The deceased is tormented because of the weeping of his family over him.”
