Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ (١) ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْمُجَثَّمَةِ، وَالْجَلَّالَةِ - قَالَ: أَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ نَهَى عَنْ لَبَنِ الْجَلَّالَةِ - وَأَنْ يَشْرَبَ مِنْ فِي السِّقَاءِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that he said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade gourds, varnished jars and hallowed-out stumps.
