Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ: أَنَّ جَنَازَةً مَرَّتْ بِالْحَسَنِ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَامَ الْحَسَنُ وَلَمْ يَقُمِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَمَا قَامَ (١) لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ: " قَامَ، وَقَعَدَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “This and this are the same," meaning the pinkie finger and the thumb (i.e., in terms of diyah].
