Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ التَّمِيمِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَقَدْ أَمَرْتُ بِالسِّوَاكِ، حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيَنْزِلُ بِهِ عَلَيَّ قُرْآنٌ، أَوْ وَحْيٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that
The Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The one who takes back his gift is like one who goes back to his vomit."
