Translation

English translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that

The Prophet (ﷺ) set out from Madinah in Ramadan with ten thousand Muslims. That was eight and a half years after he came to Madinah. He and the Muslims with him travelled towards Makkah; he was fasting and they were fasting too until, when he reached al-Kadeed, which is between ‘Usfan and Qudaid, he broke his fast and the Muslims with him broke their fast, then he did not fast.
