Translation

English translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, when he was in a tent on the day of Badr: "O Allah, I urge You to fulfil Your promise and covenant. O Allah, if You will, You will never be worshipped after today.” Abu Bakr took him by the hand and said: Enough, O Messenger of Allah; you have beseeched your Lord too much. And he was wearing his armour. Then he went out, saying: "Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs" (al-Qamar 54:45].
