Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ فَرَغَ مِنْ بَدْرٍ: عَلَيْكَ الْعِيرَ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا شَيْءٌ ". قَالَ: " فَنَادَاهُ الْعَبَّاسُ: إِنَّهُ لَا يَصْلُحُ لَكَ، إِنَّ اللهَ، ، وَعَدَكَ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ، وَقَدْ أَعْطَاكَ مَا وَعَدَكَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Beware of narrating from me except what you are certain of." He said: "And whoever tells a lie about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell, And whoever tells a lie about the Qur'an without knowledge, let him take his place in Hell."
