Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، وَأَسْوَدُ الْمَعْنَى قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: ابْتَاعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِيرٍ أَقْبَلَتْ، فَرَبِحَ أَوَاقِيَّ، فَقَسَمَهَا بَيْنَ أَرَامِلِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " لَا أَبْتَاعُ بَيْعًا لَيْسَ عِنْدِي ثَمَنُهُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Give the shares of inheritance to those who are entitled to them, and whatever is left goes to the closest male relative."
