Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " وَاللهِ مَا صَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا كَامِلًا قَطُّ غَيْرَ رَمَضَانَ، وَكَانَ إِذَا صَامَ، صَامَ حَتَّى يَقُولَ الْقَائِلُ: لَا وَاللهِ لَا يُفْطِرُ، وَيُفْطِرُ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ، حَتَّى يَقُولَ الْقَائِلُ: وَاللهِ لَا يَصُومُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said.
The Prophet (ﷺ) bought some camels that had come from outside Madinah, and he made some money, then he divided it among the widows of (Banu) ‘Abdul-Muttalib. Then he said: "I will never buy anything for which I do not have the price."
