Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " كُتِبَ عَلَيَّ النَّحْرُ، وَلَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكُمْ، وَأُمِرْتُ بِرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى، وَلَمْ تُؤْمَرُوا بِهَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray on a reed mat.
