حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ: وَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدَهُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيَّ - أَوْ قَالَ: عَلَى مَنْكِبَيَّ - فَقَالَ: " اللهُمَّ فَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ، وَعَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه):
The name of Juwairiyah bint al-Harith, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), was Barrah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) changed her name and called her Juwairiyah.
