Translation

English translation

It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Wa’lah said: I heard Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) say:

A man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about Saba": was it a man or a woman or a land? He said: “It was a man who had ten sons, six of whom lived in Yemen and four in Syria. As for those who lived in Yemen, they were Madhhij, Kindah, al-Azd, al-Ash'ariyyoon, Ammar and Himyar, and all of them are Arabs. As for those who lived in Syria, they were: Lakhm, ]udham, 'Amilah and Ghassan.”
