Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي خُصَيْفٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ، ، جُبَيْرٍ، وَعِكْرِمَةَ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ الْمُصْمَتِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr, ‘Umar and ‘Uthman continued ‘Umrah on to the Hajj [tamattu’ or qiran]; the first one to forbid it was Mu’awiyah.
