Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَخَّرَ الطَّوَافَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) circumambulated (the Ka’bah) seven times, walking quickly, and he only did that to show the mushrikeen his strength. ‘Affan said: Because the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) liked to show the people his strength.
