Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) came out for either the Zuhr or Asr prayer, carrying either Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) or Imam Husain (may Allah be pleased with him). He advanced and seated him to one side, then pronounced the takbeer and began the prayer. When he went into prostration, he prolonged it greatly. I raised my head in between and saw that a child was riding on the back of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) while he was still in prostration. Seeing this, I returned to prostration. When the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) finished the prayer, the people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Today you made the prostration in this prayer very long. We thought perhaps some incident had occurred or revelation was being sent down upon you?" The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "None of these things happened. Rather, my son was riding on my back, and I did not wish to hurry him until he had fulfilled his desire."
