حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي الدَّسْتُوَائِيَّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا تَفْتَخِرُوا بِآبَائِكُمِ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا (١) فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَمَا يُدَهْدِهُ الْجُعَلُ بِمَنْخَرَيْهِ، خَيْرٌ مِنْ آبَائِكُمِ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
When the Prophet (ﷺ) conquered Makkah, he stayed there for seventeen days, praying two rak'ahs (in the obligatory prayers that are four rak'ahs for one who is not travelling).
