حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ: " كَانَ ـ تَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ـ أَخَذَ عَلَيْنَا، ، فِي الْبَيْعَةِ: أَنْ لَا نَنُوحَ "، فَمَا وَفَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَّا غَيْرَ خَمْسٍ: أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ، وَامْرَأَةُ مُعَاذٍ، وَابْنَةُ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ، وَأُمُّ الْعَلَاءِ (١) ، وَامْرَأَةٌ أُخْرَى " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that among the conditions which the Prophet (ﷺ) set when taking our pledge of allegiance was that you will not wail (lament), but except for five women, none of us fulfilled this promise.
