Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ: " نُهِينَا (١) عَنْ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that we were forbidden from accompanying funeral processions, but this prohibition was not enforced strictly upon us.
