Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنْ الْعَيْزَارِ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ الْحُصَيْنِ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةَ قَالَتْ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ عَلَيْهِ بُرْدٌ (٣) قَدِ الْتَفَعَ بِهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ إِبْطِهِ فَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى عَضَلَةِ عَضُدِهِ تَرْتَجُّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، اتَّقُوا اللهَ، وَأَطِيعُوا (٤) وَإِنْ أُمِّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ مُجَدَّعٌ فَاسْمَعُوا، ، وَأَطِيعُوا مَا أَقَامَ فِيكُمْ كِتَابَ اللهِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Yahya bin Husain narrates from his grandmother that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: If a slave is appointed over you who leads you according to the Book of Allah, then listen to him and obey him.
