Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Tariq bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When you pray, do not spit to your right or in front of you, but if there is space, spit behind you or to your left. Otherwise, do like this." Saying this, the Prophet (ﷺ) spat beneath his foot and rubbed it into the soil.
