It is narrated from Umm Ishaq (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she was present in the service of the Prophet (ﷺ), when a bowl of tharid was brought. I joined the Prophet (ﷺ) in eating. Dhu’l-Yadayn was also with the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) gave me a bone with some meat on it and said: “Umm Ishaq! Eat this.” Suddenly, I remembered that I was fasting. As soon as this thought came, my hands became cold and I could neither move them forward nor backward. The Prophet (ﷺ) asked: “What happened to you?” I replied that I was fasting and I had forgotten. Dhu’l-Yadayn said: “Now that your stomach is full, you remember?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Complete your fast. This was sustenance from Allah which He sent to you.”
