حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " رَأَيْتُ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ، وَمُوسَى، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ، فَأَمَّا عِيسَى، فَأَحْمَرُ جَعْدٌ عَرِيضُ الصَّدْرِ، وَأَمَّا مُوسَى فَآدَمُ جَسِيمٌ " قَالُوا لَهُ: فَإِبْرَاهِيمُ؟ قَالَ: " انْظُرُوا إِلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ " يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray eight rak'ahs at night, and he would pray Witr with three rak'ahs, then pray the two rak'ahs. When he grew old, he settled with nine (altogether), six and three.
