Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Umm Hani that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, I gave protection to my two brothers-in-law who were among the polytheists. During this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived, covered in dust and wrapped in a cloak. Upon seeing me, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Welcome to Fakhita Umm Hani." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have given protection to my two brothers-in-law who are among the polytheists." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever you have given protection to, we also give protection to; whoever you have granted safety to, we also grant safety to." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed Fatimah, who brought water, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ghusl (ritual bath) with it. Then, wrapping himself well in a single garment, he offered eight rak'ahs of prayer. This happened on the day of the conquest of Makkah, at the time of forenoon.
