Translation

English translation

Hakam says that I asked Maqsim whether I could pray three rak'ahs of Witr and then go for prayer so that I would not miss the prayer. He replied, "Witr should be five or seven." I mentioned this opinion before Mujahid and Yahya bin Jazaa. They said, "Ask him for the chain of narration." I asked Maqsim for the chain, and he said, "A trustworthy narrator reports this from Maymunah and Aisha."
