حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَرَّاحِ، مَوْلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، كَمَا يَتَوَضَّئُونَ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Habibah that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: If I did not fear hardship for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at every prayer time when they perform ablution.
