حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ ضَبَّةَ بْنِ (١) مُحْصِنٍ الْعَنْزِيَّ (٢) ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " سَيَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ، يَعْرِفُونَ وَيُنْكِرُونَ (٣) ، فَمَنْ عَرَفَ بَرِئَ (٤) ، وَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ سَلِمَ، وَلَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ ". قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَفَلَا نَقَتُلُ (٥) فُجَّارَهُمْ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، مَا صَلَّوْا " (٦)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Soon there will come six rulers, some of whose habits you will find good and some you will disapprove of. So whoever disapproves will be free of responsibility, and whoever expresses dislike will remain safe. However, the one who is pleased and follows them (his case is different). The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not fight against them?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No, as long as they lead you in the five prayers."
