Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " تَمَتَّعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ " وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ حَتَّى مَاتَ، وَعُمَرُ حَتَّى مَاتَ، وَعُثْمَانُ حَتَّى مَاتَ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ نَهَى عَنْهَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: فَعَجِبْتُ مِنْهُ وَقَدْ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ " قَصَّرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِشْقَصٍ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
"The (evil) eye is real, the (evil) eye is real; the (evil) eye could cause the destruction of a mountain."
