حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،، ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ (١) ، وَإِنَّهُ جَاءَهُ وَفْدٌ فَشَغَلُوهُ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّهِمَا، فَصَلَّاهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform two rak'ahs after the Zuhr prayer. Once, a delegation from Banu Tamim arrived, due to which the two rak'ahs that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to perform after Zuhr were missed, and he performed them after Asr.
