English translation
It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (ﷺ) sent her a marriage proposal. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, none of my guardians are present here." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "None of your guardians, whether absent or present, will dislike this." She then said to her son, Umar bin Abi Salamah, "You arrange my marriage with the Prophet (ﷺ)." So he gave Umm Salamah in marriage to the Prophet (ﷺ). Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said to her, "Whatever I have given to your sisters (my wives), I will not give you less than that: two millstones, a water-skin, and a leather pillow stuffed with palm fiber." After this, whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) would come to her for privacy, as soon as she saw him, she would take her daughter Zainab and seat her in her lap, and eventually the Prophet (ﷺ) would leave in the same way. When Ammar bin Yasir, who was Umm Salamah's foster brother, learned of this, he came to Umm Salamah and said, "Where is that dirty girl through whom you have been causing the Prophet (ﷺ) distress?" and he took her away with him. This time, when the Prophet (ﷺ) came and entered the house, he looked around in all four corners of the room and then asked about the girl, "Where is Zanab (Zainab)?" She replied, "Ammar came and took her with him." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) had privacy with her and said, "If you wish, I will spend seven days with you, but then I will also spend seven days with each of my other wives."
