حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ الْمُطَّلِبَ بْنَ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ: " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي جَالِسًا حَتَّى كَانَ قَبْلَ وَفَاتِهِ بِعَامٍ، أَوْ عَامَيْنِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Hafsa that I never saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) performing prayer sitting on his prayer mat, but one or two years before his final illness, the Prophet (peace be upon him) began to perform prayer sitting on his prayer mat.
