حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَرَأَى الْيَهُودَ يَصُومُونَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، فَقَالَ: " مَا هَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي تَصُومُونَ؟ " قَالُوا: هَذَا يَوْمٌ صَالِحٌ، هَذَا يَوْمٌ نَجَّى اللهُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ عَدُوِّهِمْ. قَالَ: فَصَامَهُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَنَا أَحَقُّ بِمُوسَى مِنْكُمْ " قَالَ: فَصَامَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَمَرَ بِصَوْمِهِ (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“With regard to a mukatab (a slave who has drawn up a contract of manumission with his master and is buying his freedom in instalments), a portion of the diyah of a free man should be paid, commensurate with how much he had paid towards his manumission, and a portion of the diyah of a slave should be paid, commensurate with the extent to which he was still a slave.”
