Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي قَتَادَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْعَائِدِ فِي قَيْئِهِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
'Amr bin Deenar narrated that Tawoos said: One who was more knowledgeable about it than them - meaning 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) - told me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“For a man to lend his land to his brother for free is better than his taking a specified share of the crop in return for it."
