حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ،، ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " كَانَ الْجِنُّ يَسْمَعُونَ الْوَحْيَ فَيَسْتَمِعُونَ الْكَلِمَةَ فَيَزِيدُونَ فِيهَا عَشْرًا، فَيَكُونُ مَا سَمِعُوا حَقًّا، وَمَا زَادُوهُ بَاطِلًا، وَكَانَتِ النُّجُومُ لَا يُرْمَى بِهَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ، فَلَمَّا بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ لَا يَأْتِي مَقْعَدَهُ إِلا رُمِيَ بِشِهَابٍ يُحْرِقُ مَا أَصَابَ، فَشَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَى إِبْلِيسَ، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا إِلا مِنْ أَمْرٍ قَدْ حَدَثَ فَبَثَّ جُنُودَهُ، فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يُصَلِّي بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْ نَخْلَةَ، فَأَتَوْهُ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ، فَقَالَ: هَذَا الْحَدَثُ الَّذِي حَدَثَ فِي الْأَرْضِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
Which of the two recitations came at a later date, the recitation of 'Abdullah or the recitation of Zaid? He said: We said: The recitation of Zaid. He said: No, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to review the Qur'an with Jibreel every year, and in the year in which he died, he reviewed it with him twice, and the last recitation was the recitation of 'Abdullah.
