Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، ثَمَانِ سِنِينَ أَوْ سَبْعًا (٣) يَرَى الضَّوْءَ وَيَسْمَعُ الصَّوْتَ، وَثَمَانِيًا أَوْ سَبْعًا يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ، وَأَقَامَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرًا " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that if something upset the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he would say:
“There is no God but Allah, the Forbearing, the Almighty; there is no God but Allah, Lord of the noble Throne; there is no God but Allah, Lord of the mighty Throne; there is no God but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the noble Throne." Then he would offer supplication.
