English translation

It is narrated from Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to his noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them): "What do you say about adultery?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger have declared it forbidden, so it will remain forbidden until the Day of Judgment." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "For a man to commit adultery with ten women is lighter than committing adultery with his neighbor's wife." Then he asked, "What do you say about theft?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger have declared it forbidden, so it will remain forbidden." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "For a person to steal from ten houses is lighter than stealing from his neighbor's house."
