Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ الْيَمَانِيِّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " اغْتَسِلُوا، ، يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَاغْسِلُوا رُءُوسَكُمْ، وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا جُنُبًا، وَمَسُّوا مِنَ الطِّيبِ " قَالَ: فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: " أَمَّا الطِّيبُ فَلا أَدْرِي وَأَمَّا الْغُسْلُ، فَنَعَمْ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Aswad said: Isra'eel told us [the same hadeeth] with the [same] isnad, except that he said:
"... Do not cover his face..."
