حَدِيثُ أَبِي دَاودَ الْمَازِنِيِّ، ٢٣٧٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْمَازِنِيُّ، وَحَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ (١) قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ، فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي مَازِنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْمَازِنِيِّ، وَكَانَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَأَتْبَعُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لِأَضْرِبَهُ، إِذْ وَقَعَ رَأْسُهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَصِلَ إِلَيْهِ سَيْفِي، فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ قَتَلَهُ غَيْرِي " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
Abu Dawood Mazni (may Allah be pleased with him), who was among the participants of the Battle of Badr, says: I followed a man from the Quraysh to attack him, but before my sword could reach him, his head fell off by itself. I realized that someone else had killed him before me.
