English translation

It is narrated from Salamah bin Sakhr Bayazi (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was very fond of women, and I do not know any man who had as much intercourse with women as I did. Anyway, Ramadan came, so I made zihar from my wife until the end of Ramadan so that I would not go near her at night. I continued in this way until the day, and I did not find enough strength in myself to completely separate from her. One night, my wife was serving me when the cloth lifted from her thigh, and I had intercourse with her. When morning came, I presented myself before the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and narrated the whole incident. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Free a slave." I said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I only own myself." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Alright! Fast for two consecutive months." I said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), this calamity that has befallen me is because of fasting." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Give charity and feed sixty needy people."
