Mujahid says that Janadah bin Abi Umayyah was our governor for six years. One day he stood up and while delivering a sermon, he said that an Ansari companion (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us. We went to him and requested, "Tell us a hadith that you yourself heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him); do not tell us any hadith you heard from people." By making this request, we put him in difficulty. Then he said, "Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stood among us to deliver a sermon and said: 'I have warned you about the Messiah Dajjal. His (left) eye will be wiped out. With him will be mountains of bread and rivers of water.' His sign will be that he will remain on earth for forty days and his dominion will reach every watering place, but he will not be able to enter four mosques: the Ka'bah, the Prophet's Mosque, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Mount Tur. In any case! Remember this much: Allah Almighty is not one-eyed. He will be given power over a man whom he will kill and then bring back to life, but apart from this, he will not be given power over anyone else."
