حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: اخْتَلَفَ الْمِسْوَرُ، وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: امْتَرَى فِي الْمُحْرِمِ يَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ الْمَاءَ قَالَ: فَأَرْسَلُوا إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ كَيْفَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ؟ فَقَالَ: " هَكَذَا مُقْبِلًا وَمُدْبِرًا " وَصَفَهُ سُفْيَانُ (١)،
Translation
English translation
Once there was a difference of opinion between Miswar and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). They had a doubt regarding the Muhrim who pours water over his head. Then they sent a man to Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask: How did you see the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) washing his head? He replied: Like this, from front to back. The narrator demonstrated the manner in which it was done.
