حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي يَرْبُوعَ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ يُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ يَقُولُ: " يَدُ الْمُعْطِي الْعُلْيَا أُمَّكَ وَأَبَاكَ، وَأُخْتَكَ وَأَخَاكَ، ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ فَأَدْنَاكَ "، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعَ الَّذِينَ أَصَابُوا فُلَانًا قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَا لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى أُخْرَى " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from a companion of Banu Yarbu‘ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the service of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ), and I heard him saying during a conversation with the people: "The hand that gives is the upper hand. Spend on your mother, father, sister, brother, and then on relatives according to their closeness." A man submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! The Banu Tha‘labah bin Yarbu‘ have killed such-and-such a man." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No person will be held responsible for the crime of another."
