Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْهُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: أُصِيبَ يَوْمِ الْخَنْدَقِ رَجُلٌ مِنَ المُشْرِكِينَ، وَطَلَبُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُجِنُّوهُ، فَقَالَ: " لَا، وَلا كَرَامَةَ لَكُمْ " قَالُوا: فَإِنَّا نَجْعَلُ لَكَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ جُعْلًا، قَالَ: " وَذَلِكَ أَخْبَثُ وَأَخْبَثُ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
“I shall be ahead of you at the Cistern, and whoever comes to it will have succeeded. Some people will be brought and then taken to the left, and I will say: 'O Lord!' But it will be said: ‘They continued turning back on their heels after you were gone.”’
