قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلَا يَأْكُلْ بِشِمَالِهِ، وَإِذَا شَرِبَ فَلَا يَشْرَبْ بِشِمَالِهِ، وَإِذَا أَخَذَ فَلَا يَأْخُذْ بِشِمَالِهِ، وَإِذَا أَعْطَى فَلَا يُعْطِي بِشِمَالِهِ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated mursal from Abdullah bin Abi Talha, may Allah have mercy on him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any of you eats food, he should not eat with his left hand; when he drinks, he should not drink with his left hand; when he holds something, he should not hold it with his left hand; and when he gives something, he should not give it with his left hand.
