English translation
Kabsha bint Ka'b, who was married to the son of Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), says: "Once Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her house. Kabsha placed water for his ablution. In the meantime, a cat came and began to drink water from that vessel. Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) tilted the vessel for it, until the cat was satisfied. He saw that I was looking at him with astonishment, so he said, 'Niece! Are you surprised at this?' I said, 'Yes!' He said, 'The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: It is not impure, because it is an animal that frequently comes into your houses.'"
