Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say from the pulpit regarding the Ansar: "Behold! People are like an outer garment for me, and the Ansar are like an inner garment for me (which is in contact with the body). If people walk on one path and the Ansar on another, I will walk on the path of the Ansar. If there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar myself. Therefore, whoever becomes responsible for the affairs of the Ansar should treat their righteous well and overlook the faults of their wrongdoers. And whoever frightens them, frightens the one who is between these two pillars," meaning the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) himself.
