حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْإِثْنَيْنِ؟ فَقَالَ: " فِيهِ وُلِدْتُ وَفِيهِ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) about fasting on Monday. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) replied: "On this day I was born and on this day revelation was sent down to me."
