Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْبَدُ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ السَّلَمِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِيَّاكُمْ وَكَثْرَةَ الْحَلِفِ فِي الْبَيْعِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَفِّقُ، ثُمَّ يَمْحَقُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) say: "Refrain from taking too many oaths in buying and selling, for although it makes the goods sell, its blessing is removed."
