حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ لِيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ: " أَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ. دِينَارَانِ. قَالَ: " أَتَرَكَ لَهُمَا وَفَاءً؟ " قَالُوا: لَا. قَالَ: " صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ ". ١٠ قَالَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ: هُمَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (١)، ، . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a funeral was brought to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Has he left any debt behind?" The people replied, "Yes! Two dinars." The Prophet (ﷺ) asked, "Has he left anything in inheritance?" The people replied, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then you should offer the funeral prayer of your companion yourselves." Upon this, Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! His debt is upon me." Thus, the Prophet (ﷺ) led his funeral prayer.
