حَدِيثُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ (١)، ٢٢٥١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَنْصُورٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَاذَانَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ. فَقَالَ: " كَفَّارَةُ سَنَتَيْنِ ". وَسُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ. فَقَالَ: " كَفَّارَةُ سَنَةٍ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) about fasting on the Day of Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah), so the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: "It is an expiation for two years." Then someone asked about fasting on the Day of Ashura, so he said: "It is an expiation for one year."
