Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abdullah bin Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) was holding the hand of Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him). Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! I swear by Allah that you are more beloved to me than everything except my own self." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "None of you can be a complete believer until I become more beloved to him than his own self." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "By Allah! Now you are more beloved to me than my own self." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Umar! Now it is complete."
